Description
Our Advanced Security Training (AST) Course spans seven modules, conducted in a classroom setting. By the end of the course, participants will:
- Understand the Roles and Responsibilities of Security Professionals, including the National Use of Force Model
- Comprehend relevant Federal and Provincial Legislation and Regulations concerning use of force
- Learn Basic Arrest Procedures and associated legal implications
- Master effective communication techniques for incident management and use of force scenarios
- Develop strong skills in note-taking and Security Report Writing
- Gain proficiency in safe physical control tactics and application of restraints
- Recognize and respond to excited delirium and positional asphyxia
- Prioritize personal and professional safety in security roles
Additionally, individuals holding a security worker license will learn the process for adding handcuff use to their license requirements through the Registrar, Security Services Act.
Duration: 24 Hours
Class Schedule: Monday to Saturday: 10am to 6pm

- Language of instruction – English
- Course fee ($400) includes taxes, registration, tuition, and study material fees
- After passing the exam, the student is responsible for paying the license fee and getting the fingerprinting done (requirement for security worker license)
- Students must have Basic Security Training (BST) Certification before enrolling in AST
